MOTHER RUBY FRANCIS TERRY was born in Gulfport, Mississippi to the late Bishop L.J. Francis and Supervisor Flora B. Francis. She met and married the love of her life the late Superintendent Ivanhoe Terry, and to this union they were blessed with two sons, Elder Erric Duane Terry and Elder Christopher J. Terry. She is a proud mother-in-love, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Many know her for her music ministry, which afforded her the opportunity to become a national recording artist on the Malaco Record Label, recording five albums and being nominated for two Gospel Stellar Awards. She has ministered in song with numerous artists such as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, Ty Tribbett, Dorothy Norwood, Dr. Bobby Jones, Tramaine Hawkins, Norman Hutchins, Pastor Shirley Ceasar, Kurt Carr, the late Rev. James Moore, the late Rev. Frank Williams, the late Rev. Timothy Wright, the late Walter Hawkins, the late Edwin Hawkins, the late Aretha Franklin and many other. Evangelist Terry is a featured recording artist on numerous recordings and had an appearance on the hit movie, “The Apostle” with the legendary Robert Duvall and Farrah Fawcett, along with the Southwest Louisiana Mass Choir, which she founded. Evangelist Terry also headlined a Gospel Stage Play entitled “I Won’t Complain”.

Before pursing her music career, she served in Military Operations at Ft. Sill, Army Base, for the U.S. Department of Defense in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a Blueprints and Design Operator at the Kansas Natural Gas Company and served with the United States Postal Service in Liberal, Kansas.

Evangelist Ruby Terry was licensed as a missionary at the age of 18 years. For many years, Evangelist Terry served in numerous capacities in the Department of Women under the leadership of the late Supervisor Jennie V. Hearne in the state of Oklahoma and Supervisor Martha C. Walker in the state of Kansas. Upon moving to Louisiana, she served diligently under the late Supervisor Leola Bryant and Supervisor Vanessa Winbush-Gatlin. Within the Historical Louisiana First Jurisdiction, she served as the Department of Women Logistics Chairperson, YWCC Chairperson, Finance Expeditor, Executive Hospitality, Decorations Chairperson, Aide to the Supervisor, and hosted 4 Jurisdictional Women’s Conventions.

Evangelist Ruby Terry formerly served as the First Lady of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Liberal, Kansas, Saints Memorial Church of God In Christ (now Saints Cathedral) in the city of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Saint James Church of God in Christ in Grand Chenier, Louisiana, and as a Superintendent’s Wife for the Lake Charles District Church of God In Christ.

Evangelist Ruby Terry was officially installed as Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor via the Greater New Orleans Jurisdiction at the 108th International Holy Convocation by then General Supervisor, Mother Willie Mae Rivers. She helped to continue the work of ministry in that women’s department under the new Supervisor, Mother Gloria Brown until returning to her home jurisdiction, Historical Louisiana First at the request of Bishop Roy L.H. Winbush.

Bishop James W. Proctor officially recognized and appointed her as Assistant Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women on June 20, 2020, via the Historical Louisiana First Jurisdiction. On March 10, 2022, Bishop James W. Proctor selected Evangelist Ruby Terry to be recommended to lead the Women’s Department and bestowed upon her the title of Supervisor-Designate. She was officially installed as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women on Friday, November 11, 2022, by the International Department of Women General Supervisor, Dr. Barbara McCoo-Lewis. She recently was appointed to serve on the International Women’s Department Board of Examiners for Jurisdictional Supervisor Designates and the Women’s Convention Special Assistance Committee.

Evangelist Terry is also licensed National Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ and serves as a member of the Executive Board of the International Evangelism Department. Evangelist Terry also serves as an advisory official with the International Music Department of the Church of God in Christ.

She has traveled to more than 12 foreign countries, training and ministering to women, of the Church of God in Christ at churches and military bases. Many bishops and supervisors have invited her to speak and facilitate training seminars during their Worker’s Meetings, Convocations, and Annual Women’s Day events. She has been afforded the opportunity to be the keynote speaker for every elected Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. from Bishop J.O. Patterson, Sr. to Bishop J. Drew Sheard.

She currently serves as an Executive Assistant to Pastor Michael Cuba, Jr. at Saints Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Lake Charles, LA. She serves as the Founder/Executive Director of Seasons of Return Ministries and Reign Jesus Reign Productions. In addition, she is the owner and CEO of Karren’s Fine Design, which provides wedding planning and event decoration consultation.

Her ministry has allowed her to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ by way of the Spoken Word and singing throughout the world. She is the author of two books that have touched the hearts of women across this nation. Evangelist Terry is a lover of people and has a heart of giving.
